eBird is once again encouraging everyone to take part and count birds at any location they choose. Roger and I covered Tolay Lake last week and it's a wonderful spot to go birding and find Golden Eagles and 40 to 50 bird species on any day.
I usually conduct these counts with a small group that is familiar with the task. You're welcome to sign up on the waiting list if you'd like to join us and we can form another small group if we have enough people.
Here's the ebird checklist from our last visit to Tolay Lake:
eBird Checklist - 3 May 2025 - Tolay Regional Park - 42 species

Tolay Lake east of Petaluma is the largest Regional Park in Sonoma County. It is easy to find online and there is only one entrance. We will meet by the pay station in the parking lot at 10:00 AM. There's a $7 parking fee if you do not have a Regional Park Pass. I encourage carpooling on all our trips.
