North-South Lake Campground / Catskills Weekend Camping

It is a good time to camping and hiking in the Catskills! Join us for an exciting early summer weekend of camping at North-South Lake, the largest and one of the most beautiful campgrounds in the Catskills. Our passion is to connect with nature, meet like-minded adventurers, explore the Catskills, and enjoy the great outdoors!

Infinitary
Day 1: Arrival & Camp Setup
We’ll meet at North-South Lake Campground and set up our tents. After settling in, we’ll gather for introductions, a campfire, and a relaxing evening under the stars.

Day 2: Day Hike / Relax at Campground
Option 1: Relax at the campground, and enjoy nature.
Option 2: We’ll embark on our main hike along the Escarpment Trail. This hike offers panoramic views, steep climbs, and several lookout points over the Hudson Valley. The hike will be moderate in difficulty, around 6-10 miles, with some elevation gain.
Option 3: It is a good chance to finish the 35ers required list Kaaterskill High Peak. You have plenty of time to enjoy your 35er journey.

Day 3: Leisure & Departure
We’ll enjoy a relaxed morning, with optional activities such as:
A short hike to North Point.
Kayaking or canoeing on North-South Lake (rentals available at the campground).
We’ll pack up our campsite by noon before heading home.

Need to Bring:
Tent, sleeping bag, and camping gear
Hiking essentials: sturdy boots, daypack, water, snacks, sunblock, and rain gear (weather can be unpredictable in the Catskills).
Food and beverages for the weekend (we’ll coordinate shared meals, such as group breakfasts and dinners).
Personal items like bug spray, toiletries, and extra layers for cool evenings.

This is a rain-or-shine event.

If you’re new to camping or hiking, we’ll provide support and guidance, and the group will have a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.
We’ll be staying at designated campsites with fire pits, picnic tables, and restroom facilities nearby. Showers are available at the campground.

Carpooling: We encourage participants to carpool to reduce costs and environmental impact. We’ll help organize carpool options from NYC and surrounding areas.

Fees: $49 per person for 2 nights and 3 days. Firewood costs will be split among the group, or you are welcome to bring your own for both nights.
