Nature, Backpacking, and Camping Group

Let’s spend a summer weekend camping in the woods, relaxing at two of NJ’s best beaches, and sharing food and fire. We'll base camp at Bass River State Forest, which was established in 1905, and NJ’s very first state forest. It features quiet pine woodlands, Lake Absegami, just 25 minutes from Long Beach Island and 35 minutes from Island Beach State Park. Each day we'll explore a different beach. One wild and natural, the other lively and fun.

Friday, August 15
Arrive after noon and set up tents at our group campsite. Chill by Lake Absegami or take a stroll through the forest. Firepit dinner, sunset, and stargazing.
Saturday, August 16
Early morning trip to Island Beach State Park, one of NJ’s last remaining undeveloped barrier islands. 10 miles of pristine sandy beach along the Atlantic Ocean. Peaceful stretch of untouched dunes & sea. Optional short hike or beach nap. In Late afternoon, we will drive to Barnegat Lighthouse for sunset. Then return to camp for shared dinner & fire.
Sunday, August 17
Pack up tents, then head to Long Beach Island. swim, brunch, ice cream, or shop in Beach Haven. Optional group lunch or solo unwind. Head home early evening.

Fees: $20 per person for 2 nights and 3 days. Sites provide flush toilets, showers, Picnic tables, and Fire rings. Firewood costs will be split among the group. Everyone is on the waitlist until you finish paying.

What to Bring:
Camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc.)
Kayak/canoe or rental

Water-appropriate clothing, rain gear, and swimwear

Join us for a Columbus Day travel through Vermont’s scenic Route 100, New Hampshire’s beautiful White Mountains, and the Mount Washington summit. We’ll enjoy peak foliage, charming small towns, and the famous Kancamagus Highway. We'll stay at a comfy mountain-view, heart of the White Mountains Airbnb, and take in the best of fall in New England! It's Perfect for leaf peeping, light hiking, and good company.

Schedule:

• Day 1 (10/11) – Vermont's Route 100 Magic
  Wind up through the heart of Vermont on scenic Route 100. Stop in charming towns for local eats and photo ops.
• Day 2 (10/12) – hike white Mountain and summit Mount Washington.
  Explore the White Mountains with short hikes and scenic stops. Visit waterfalls, mountain vistas, and vibrant forest trails. The option is to take the Mount Washington Cog Railway to the summit.
• Day 3 (10/13) – Kancamagus Highway Drive
  Scenic cruise along the famous Kancamagus Highway—one of New England’s most spectacular fall foliage routes. Take short hikes and scenic stops. Loop back with another stretch of Route 100 before heading home.

Fee: $138 per person for a 2-night, 3-day stay. Payment: Venmo@Nature-and-outdoors. First come, first served. After you confirm your spot, you will be moved from the waitlist to the attendees list.
We will carpool together if needed, or you can give a ride; we will share the gas and tolls.

We have rented an entire home. The guest will have a single bed, share a bed, or upgrade to a private room option. Airbnb has a full kitchen, laundry room, and 2 bathrooms. Fire, Stove, and wood. The kitchen has pots, pans, spices, oil, Oven/gas range stove; refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and small appliances including Kuerig machine and a drip coffee machine, toaster, crock pot, and an assortment of baking pans.

Spacious Vacation Home with Hot Tub. Walking distance to some spectacular lakes/boat, launch, paddle boarding, mountain biking, hiking. 2 STAND-UP PADDLE BOARDS and 5 PERSON PARTY TUBE INCLUDED!

A few cozy ground rules to keep the good vibes flowing:
No alcohol or smoking. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
