What we’re about

Looking for a welcoming and affirming way to connect with nature, spirit, and community? Join Pastor Eli and Professor Scott for our twice-monthly Hiking and Nature Group! This group is an open, inclusive space centering LGBTQ+ folks—especially queer and trans people—who find spiritual connection through the outdoors.

We hike approximately 3 miles on local trails in the St. Louis area, weaving in moments of reflection, prayer, communion, and casual spiritual conversation along the way. You don't need to be a member of our church—or any church—to participate. All are welcome, whether you're exploring faith, reconnecting with it, or simply craving fresh air with friendly people.

What to Bring:
Water and snacks for yourself
Comfortable hiking shoes
Long pants and sleeves are encouraged for trail safety (think: bugs and brush!)

Important Notes:
Hikes may change due to weather, trail conditions, or group needs, so RSVP to receive location updates and schedule changes.
We aim to make our hikes accessible and paced for a range of abilities. Let us know your needs when signing up!

This group is part of the life and outreach of Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis (MCCGSL)—a radically inclusive, LGBTQ+-affirming Christian community committed to justice, compassion, and belonging.

Whether you're a seasoned hiker, just getting started, or simply seeking queer joy in nature, we’d love to have you on the trail with us!
