Wild Grief — Winter Solstice Walk

We will gather near the Stone Shelter at Tower Grove Park and we will walk for about one hour. We will share a poem or two along the way.

Spending time with others while you’re experiencing loss of any kind (through relationship change, death of a loved one, job loss, or other significant life transitions) can help ground you on your grief journey. At our Wild Grief Walk, we gather with others who are grieving to take in the wonder and tenderness of the natural world around us. On this walk we will find quiet spaces for reflection, connection, and healing.

Our walk will take place near the Winter Solstice, a time when the veil feels thin and the world pauses in deep stillness. As the longest night of the year invites us inward, we will walk gently together—honoring those we miss, tending to what aches, and making room for whatever arises.

There is no expectation for how you “should” be moving through this season. The holidays can bring both tenderness and pain, and this walk is simply a place to come as you are. We’ll move at a slow, intentional pace, sharing stories if we feel called, or resting together in silence beneath the winter sky.

Whether you seek connection, solitude in the company of others, or a moment to breathe, you are welcome here.
