September Regional Nature Journal Club Field Trip @ Point Molate, Richmond CA

Details
Join the SF Bay Area Nature Journal Club for a field trip to Point Molate, a wonderful beachy and bluffy area under the Richmond Bridge.
Point Molate is a hidden treasure, a place teeming with bird and sea life, including an eelgrass nursery just under the waves. The land has been used extensively by humans, and is now under restoration for the creation of a new East Bay Regional park. The wonderful folks at Point Molate Alliance steward this place and advocate for protections.
Learn more about the location:
See the history and more on the Point Molate Alliance website
- We'll meet at 10am at the picnic tables between the parking lot and the beach.
- At 10:15am we'll do short intros and a warm-up activity. Then we'll head out for journaling, either in small clusters, or solo, whichever you prefer.
- We'll re-gather together at 12:30 for lunch, to share work, and to socialize. Then head back out for more journaling!
- We'll meet again at 2:30 for a final closing circle and connection time, then wrap.
Note: This field trip ends a little sooner than most, because Urban Sketcher and Nature Journaling friend Nishant Jain (aka: the sneaky artist) is in town and having a book event in SF that evening! Check out Nishant's site for details.
