*Pollinator Month* Nature Nerds Explore Bronx River Pathway
Details
The Bronx River is the only true, fresh water river that flows into NYC. We will explore two of it's larger pools in the south Westchester area - Bronxville Lake and Crestwood Lake.
We will meet at the Parkway Oval Parking Lot in Yokers and I'll send a pin to all registered the night before. We walk over to Crestwood Lake together and then walk south to Bronxville Lake looking for birds, insects, reptiles and whatever we else may find.
Option is to grab brunch together at Pondfield Cafe or another spot in the area at the end of the walk.
Bring your curiosity, and download the iNaturalist app!
What to bring:
Comfortable walking shoes or hiking footwear
Water
A snack
Optional: binoculars, butterfly net, hand lens, and/or field guides.
Children are welcome when accompanied by a participating adult.
Please leave dogs at home for this event. Our goal is to observe wildlife, and pets can unintentionally disturb or scare away many of the animals we're hoping to see.
Whether you're an experienced naturalist or simply curious about the world around you, all are welcome! We’ll move at a relaxed pace and learn from whatever nature has to offer.
