Comet C/2023 A3 - Possible Naked Eye Visible - In Person Viewing Attempt

You do NOT need to sign up for this event but you do need to show up if you want to join in the viewing attempt :)

It is *NOT* likely that we will be able to see the comet with the naked eye. I have two (2) binoculars and a compass that I'll make available to any participants. If you have binoculars or a telescope feel free to bring them. I'll also have my laptop that has Stellarium installed to pin down where we should be looking.

We'll be meeting in the parking lot of the N. 183 Container Store (They don't close until 8pm) as close to the access road/sidewalk as we can get. I've used this site for other comet viewing attempts as it has a clear view to the W. Don't forget to bring water!

The weather will be quite a bit cooler and while the rain has moved out of the forecast we are still looking at roughly 25% overcast at this time. If it is raining or heavily overcast we'll cancel.
