El Chorro Regional Park, located across from Cuesta College, offers a beautiful variety of photographic opportunities: birds perched on trees and shrubs, raptors flying overhead, scenic trails for landscapes, and the Botanical Gardens filled with plants and insects.
e-Bird shows 39 species reported this month including woodpeckers flickers, sapsuckers, Phoebes, tits, kinglets, finches, and wrens, just to mention a few.
This is a great spot to use any type of lens you have. A long lens is ideal for birds, but a mid-range zoom works well too. You can also explore landscapes and macro photography. There’s plenty of parking, shaded benches to relax on, and even a dog park if you’d like to bring your furry companion.
Let’s meet at 8:00 AM to take advantage of the best morning light and cooler temperatures. We’ll gather in the parking lot across from the Botanical Garden entrance for quick introductions and to answer any questions. I’ll be available to help anyone who’s new or looking to improve their photography skills.
If you’re interested in learning about macro photography, let me know. I can do a short introduction followed by hands-on practice. Please email me at **adi@adiringer.com** if you’d like to do that
There’s no vehicle entry fee for the park in October.
I look forward to seeing you on the 28th!
Feel free to contact me at 805-610-5527 if you have any questions.
