Ladner Partly Accessible Christmas Bird Count December 14, 9:00-10:00 am
Details
December 14, 9:00–10:00 am
George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary
Join Birds Canada and Nature Vancouver for a partly accessible Christmas Bird Count at Reifel. Reifel has kindly waived the admission fees for participants registered in this event.
We’ll take a short walk (up to ~130 m total) on level dirt and gravel trails, a wooden boardwalk, and paved paths, focusing on noticing the birds we see and hear. Participants are welcome to bring a portable chair or stool and sit for part or all of the outing. The environment is expected to be moderately quiet, with bird sounds and general conversation.
This outing is designed to be intentionally inclusive and accessible, with a special welcome to people with physical accessibility needs and members of equity-deserving groups (e.g., queer and BIPOC communities). Free parking, van-accessible spots, and accessible washrooms are available on site. Loaner binoculars (12 pairs) are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
