Join Birds Canada's annual Bird Count in one of the most important Key Biodiversity Areas in BC and Canada!

Register to one of the count zones with your team, similar to a Christmas Bird Count, and count wintering waterbirds and raptors within your assigned count zone! A social gathering will be organized at sunset, and available to all volunteers and surveyors who participated that day.

Participants spend the day counting birds in designated areas in Tsawwassen, Delta and Richmond, focusing on key species (mainly waterfowl and raptors). Here is a link to a map of the count areas.

For more information, contact Remi Torrenta of Birds Canada at rtorrenta@birdscanada.org

Experience level: Suitable for birders with some experience who can identify common local waterbirds and raptors, though extra eyes and helpers are always welcome.

NOTE: a meetup RSVP does NOT count as registration for this event. You must register at https://fraser-estuary-kba.birdcount.ca/
