Go big or go home? Not at the Crocodile River Reserve. Here we recognize the value of each and every living entity, regardless of its size, understanding that everything in Nature has a place and a purpose.

To this end, we invite you to join us on a ‘Micro Marvels Safari and Collage’ and uncover the hidden micro-world of Flora and Fauna. Bring your smartphone to capture the Tiny Treasures you “unearth”. If you would like, bring a companion on your journey to work with you. Pair up, or not, snap photos, and uncover nature’s Tiny Treasures! If technology is not really your thing join us anyway, and just enjoy the walk and new discoveries.

After the safari, your snapshots will contribute to your very own self-created Magnificent Micro Marvels collage, showcasing your discoveries! The night before, you can download the app GridArt that will help you create your collage on the day (you can always delete the app afterwards if you like). A computer will be present for you to view the collage you have created on your phone. You can print your collage at home and the best collage of the day will be posted on CRR Facebook and Instagram to help us promote the conservation of these tiny marvels.

Lee Douglas, a qualified FGASA guide will be taking us out on this unique walk that will be both enlightening and creatively fun. Tenaya, an artist, will be there to help you with the app and the building of your collage.

This will be all happening on Saturday the 27th of January at 8h30. We will be meeting at The Sheds, Gemstones Road (off the R511) Crocodile River Reserve. The event is suitable for all ages and the walk will not be too strenuous. The outing will end at 11h30. Please be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen and a hat. The cost is R95 per adult and R45 per child under 13.
