Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park
Details
Let’s visit Paynes Prairie State Park for this walk. We will meet in the at the Visitor Center and leave no later than 9:10 for the walk. If you haven't been to the visitor center, give yourself about 10 minutes to drive to it from the main entrance. People are often suprised how far back it is from the entrance. (I am attaching a map so you can see where the Visitor Center is in relationship to the entrance). We will hike the Cone's Dike trail.
Bring water and bug spray. Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen and/or hat. Wear closed-toed shoes. Binoculars are always nice for seeing wildlife but not required.
The park charges $6 per vehicle.
