The squirrels are madly foraging for their winter stores at this time of year and as the island is closed to the general public, they tend to be more visible.
Take advantage of this new opportunity to visit the island out of season and catch sight of the red squirrels as they scurry across the forest floor in search of food.
This year we're delighted to be working with the John Lewis Partnership to offer visitors the opportunity to visit Brownsea castle and enjoy a delicious cream tea after your afternoon of wildlife spotting.
Please note
- Meet at the National Trust Sandbanks jetty to the right hand side of the Sandbanks chain ferry.
- Bring sensible warm and waterproof outdoor clothing, paying special attention to recent and current weather conditions. Bring binoculars if you wish.
- Please note that the cafe is not open at this time of year. The only refreshments available on the island will be the cream tea in the castle, which is included in this booking.
- £30.00 ticket Includes ferry, entry, guided walk & cream tea
