Forest Therapy ~ Wabi Sabi
Details
Many people understand Wabi Sabi as finding beauty in imperfection. I do not disagree with that. Yet from the forest’s perspective, Wabi Sabi is deeper, it is seeing things as they are. The fallen leaf, the decaying log, the moss reclaiming stone nothing strives to be other than itself. In this quiet acceptance lies the true beauty: not in perfection, but in the profound harmony of things simply being.
Reflection
As we come to rest beneath the trees, let us remember: nothing in the forest tries to be perfect. The bark peels, the branch bends, the leaf falls and still, everything belongs. Wabi Sabi invites us to see through the eyes of the forest to love what is weathered, to honour what is fleeting, to bow to what simply is.
