Join us for an overnight hike to Daly's Clearing Hut in Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park.

SUNDAY 1ST JUNE
10:00am Begin 2h drive to Dickey Flat Campsite.
Gravel road is 800m long.
12:00pm Park near Dickey Flat Campsite.
12:15pm Begin 5h walk (9km) to Daly's Clearing Hut.
5:06pm Sunset.
5:15pm Arrive at Daly's Clearing Hut.
Sleep at Daly's Clearing Hut.

MONDAY 2ND JUNE
8:00am Begin walk 5h (9km) to Dickey Flat Campsite.
1:00pm Begin 2h drive to Auckland.
3:00pm Arrive in Auckland.

DALY'S CLEARING HUT
$10 (or free with Backcountry Hut Pass).
Before you go, buy one $10 Standard (blue) Hut Ticket, put this in the honesty box at the hut, or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 12 month period.

TRACKS INFO
We will walk from Dickey Flat to Daly junction, and then along the Daly Clearing track to Daly's Clearing Hut.
There may be two stream crossings.
We will walk on the west leg of Daly's Clearing Loop Track.

Headlight.
Emergency shelter.
Personal Locator Beacon (PLB).
Backpack.
Pack liner or rubbish sack (to waterproof gear).
Food & water.
Warm-when-wet breathable layers (e.g. merino shirt, merino jumper, puffy synthetic-filled jacket).
Rain jacket.
Rain poncho.
Hiking shoes.
Sunscreen, lip balm, hat, sunglasses.

GEAR FOR HUT
Sleeping bag.
Ear plugs (for snorers).

GEAR IF CAMPING
Tent.
Sleeping mat.
Sleeping bag.

GEAR OPTIONAL
Buff.
Rain pants.
Long johns.
Hiking poles.
Camping stove, pot, gas canister.
Sleeping mat (in case others have claimed the beds).

DRIVING THERE
290km return.
You're welcome to ask for a lift or offer a lift in the comments section.
If 1 passenger, suggest give $35 to driver.
2 passengers $30 each.
3 passengers $25 each.
