WESTERN SPRINGS LAKE (RUN OR WALK)

WELCOME EVERYONE
Join us for a run or walk around Western Springs Lake. Each lap is about 1.6km. Go at your own pace. Stop whenever you like. I'll run 13 laps which is over a half marathon.
PARKING
Auckland Zoo carpark is free until 9am.
Free parking west side of Motions Road.
Free parking for 3 hours on the east side of Motions Road.
SUNDAY 14ST SEPTEMBER
Walk up the driveway of the Auckland Zoo.
Meet outside the Fukuoka Garden.
If you like, stash your food & water in the bush somewhere, so you can access it while running.
6:30am start running!
Stop whenever you like.
I'll stop after 13 laps (21.255km).
A half marathon is 21.0975km.
THE COURSE
The course is the same as the Western Springs Parkrun.
Clockwise around the Western Springs Lake, except for 2 left turns.
On pavement.
Mostly Flat.
Toilet near the start.
2 drinking water taps.
Lots of animal life to see, swans, pukeko, eels, coots, ducks and geese.
DRIVING THERE
You are welcome to offer a lift or ask for a lift in the comments section below.
Passengers please give driver some money for transport.
