If you are looking to "Reconnect, Recharge, and Rediscover," this group is for you. Whether your path is slow, spirited, ceremonial, wild, or creative, you will find a space here to engage with the outdoors in a meaningful way.
Let's navigate nature together. I’ll see you in the wild.

Mini 2 Mile - Dual Perspective Ridge Hike
Fleming Park Upper & Lower Ridge Trailhead, 8401 Beach Rd, Lee's Summit, MO, USNote: Website registration is required; see link at the bottom.
Get ready to experience the landscape from two completely different points of view! Nestled along the beautiful bluffs of Fleming Park, the Upper and Lower Ridge trails run parallel to each other, offering a unique dual perspective vantage point with every step.
Rather than hiking the 5 mile dual loop, there is a cutoff about .85 miles in. I have never cut out early so I cannot guarantee the exact miles but anticipate it being around 2 miles (give or take). This gives you a taste of the trail without being overwhelmed with the full 5 miles.
The lower ridge:
Winding closely along the contours of the bluff base, this path brings you up close and personal with towering, moss-covered limestone outcrops, shady woodland pockets, and rocky overhangs rooted deep in the earth. The upper ridge:
Tracing the elevated crest of the bluff, this trail treats you to expansive, open canopy views, sweeping panoramic overlooks across the shimmering waters of Blue Springs Lake, and a breezy high-top path.Bonus Highlights & Trail Treasures:
- Ancient Limestone Energy: Immerse yourself in the grounding energy of massive ancient limestone boulders and rocky overhangs.- Rock Hunting & Discovery: Keep your eyes peeled for incredible natural treasures like ancient fossils preserved in stone, uniquely shaped rocks, natural 'hag' rocks (naturally occurring holes) and rock Mimetoliths (nature's art where rock formations mimic human faces, animals, or familiar figures!)
- Childlike Play: Let your inner child out to play on the swing hanging attached between boulders (if still there)
- Spectrum of Lake Views: Take in a shifting mix of scenery, from panoramic overlooks to peek through lake views framed through canopies
- Water's Edge Pause & Play: Enjoy moments at the shoreline to skip stones, search for shells or rocks, dip your hands in the water or soak up the energy up close.
Trail Info:
Activity Level: Easy to Moderate
Pace: Leisurely & Exploratory
Terrain: Single track with uneven surfaces, exposed tree roots, loose rocks and rock gardens, limestone rock ledges, elevation changes
