What we're about

The purpose of Navigating the Liminal is to encourage Risk Reduction/Harm Reduction through ethical discussions and case consultations amongst those who hold space for non-ordinary states of consciousness.

The inspiration for this group was the book "The Ethics of Caring" by Kylea Taylor, in which she outlines the most common ethical violations in this work, and suggests that peer to peer support as one of the solutions.

We are a Global Collective of Community, Peer to Peer Support, Accountability, and Consulting for Psychedelic Guides, Coaches, Plant/Fungi/Animal Medicine Facilitators, Doulas, Awakening Practitioners, Breathwork Facilitators, Healing Artists, Integration Specialists, and anyone else who is dedicating their life to holding space for expanded states of consciousness.

This group is designed to bring together and support those that are leading the way through this current sacred global initiation with love and radical uncertainty. If you hold space for others and want to share and nourish with other practitioners who can understand the unique challenges and rewards of this calling, please join us!

Our group discussions will be open and inclusive while also maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

We will discuss relevant subjects such as ethics in the liminal space, self-care for the space holder, tools of the trade, and how to navigate spiritual emergence/emergency. The group will also include case consultations to learn and grow together.

Scope of Practice and Screening Practices for Facilitators

Link visible for attendees

How do we determine our scope of practice as practitioners in the Liminal Space of Psychedelics? Operating within our scope of practice is a form of harm reduction, for both the seeker and the facilitator.

Join us for this peer-to-peer discussion exploring how we know which people we are qualified to hold space for, and how a comprehensive screening process can assist with this. Let's share our own practices, questions, and queries to help each other be more effective in our work.

Vicarious Trauma- what is it and how to address it?

Link visible for attendees

"Vicarious trauma is a negative reaction to trauma exposure and includes a range of psychosocial symptoms. It is the accruing effect of being exposed to someone else’s trauma — trauma that you have not personally experienced, but you’ve learned about from others1. Anyone who engages empathetically with survivors of traumatic incidents, torture, and material relating to their trauma, is potentially affected2.
It is important to recognize the signs of vicarious trauma and take steps to address it."

How do we understand the impact on our own nervous system and spirit of holding space for the processing of trauma with others? Self-care is essential for harm reduction related to vicarious trauma. Let's share our experiences and practices to keep ourselves resourced while engaging in the Liminal Space of Psychedelics.
