Foothills Program: The Slow Hike, A John Muir Ramble

Details
Our founder, John Muir, is quoted as saying, “I don't like either the word [hike] or the thing. People ought to saunter in the mountains - not 'hike'. Outings leaders Henry Fansler and Angela Sciarappa have been leading the Foothills version of the slow hike this year with this in mind. Join us as we saunter through the trails of the Gateway Nature Preserve. We will have a guide to “A John Muir Ramble” for future use, and take time to enjoy the trail and let Salem Creek and the forest speak to us.
We will meet in the parking lot behind Family Services, 1200 S Broad St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. The hike will cover under a mile and is moderate. We expect to finish by 7:30. You will need hiking footwear and water.
After the hike, we invite you to join us for coffee at Lot 63 Coffee and Taproom in Old Salem (614 S Main St, Winston-Salem).
