Patty Mountain Park Day Hike

We will hike the Patty Mountain Park trails,3.6 miles moderate loop with a gain 370 feet near West Jefferson. Bring water, snack, rain gear and hiking footwear. Explore the 3.6-mile loop trail near West Jefferson, NC, known for its scenic views and moderate difficulty. Typically taking around 1 hour and 23 minutes to complete, this popular route is great for hiking, birding, and running, though you can still find peace during quieter times. Dogs on leashes are welcome. The trail system includes several loops: the 0.3-mile Access Trail, the 1.1-mile Shag Bark Hickory Loop, and the 1.7-mile Cohosh Loop, which combine for a total of about 3.4 miles. With a 370-foot elevation gain, the figure-eight trail system winds through the beautiful Rich Cove Forest of Paddy Mountain in the Amphibolite Mountains.
