Program and Pot Luck: Wake Forest's Sustainability Commitments and Progress Made

Join us for our first meeting in 2026 with a pot luck dinner and our program. Please bring a dish to share. Our Pot Luck will begin at 6:00 with announcements at 7:00 and program at 7:30. Our speaker will be Brian Cohen, Assistant Director, Sustainability Engagement Wake Forest University In his role as Assistant Director for Sustainability Engagement, Brian Cohen works to develop current and future leaders at Wake Forest, equipping students, staff, and faculty with the skills, knowledge, experiences, and sense of empowerment needed to make impactful change. He directs the office’s student internship program, SLG (the sustainability leadership group for first-year students), and other peer leadership groups, focusing on initiatives that support climate action and engaged learning. He also facilitates behavior change opportunities in support of the university’s campus sustainability goals. Brian holds a BA in environmental studies from Bucknell University and a Master’s in Environmental Management from Duke University.
Brian will speak about Wake Forest's sustainability commitments and the progress the university has made towards its goals over the years. He will also highlight some of the emerging themes Wake's Office of Sustainability is focusing on, including the importance of nature-based awe in engagement and wellbeing.
