Last year, the Durham City Council voted to rezone the property adjacent to Sandy Creek Park to allow a developer to build a five-story apartment building there. This park is home to numerous year-round and migratory birds, and is beloved by people in Durham as well as surrounding counties for bird watching. This petition outlines the detrimental impact this plan will have on not only wildlife, but also on public health and safety.
