NDC Oslo takes place on 8-12 June 2020 - and this year, NDC Oslo will be completely online event. All the same great workshops, sessions, speakers, parties and conversations you've come to expect from NDC Conferences, but in an online format.

Between now and June, we're running a series of warmup meetups for NDC Oslo. Join our host Dylan Beattie for an hour of tech chat, a sneak preview of NDC Oslo Online, and a chance to ask questions about the online format and how it's all going to work.

We're also inviting some of the great speakers who will be appearing at NDC Oslo to share what they're working on. This week, Kenzie Whalen will be joining us to talk about the challenges of developing for dual-screen devices.

Developing for Surface Duo and Neo with Uno Platform / Xamarin

Microsoft is releasing the Surface Duo and Surface Neo at the end of 2020. Are you and your team ready to develop for these devices?

In this talk, we'll go over the new ways users will interact with these devices and how you can provide the best experience for your existing and future apps. We’ll dive into the Xamarin SDK that will allow you to create new views with Xamarin and the Uno Platform. We’ll also cover what you need to know about Windows 10X, the new Windows version created specifically for foldable devices.

At the end of this session, you will walk away with the ability to optimize your existing Xamarin / Uno apps for the Surface Duo and Surface Neo, create new apps for dual-screen devices, and know the basics of developing for foldable technology.

Kenzie is a Software Developer with a background in Agriculture. She works on a team at Infinity Interactive building both mobile and web apps mainly with Xamarin and .NET technologies. Kenzie loves to bring new tech to the community and especially loves reaching self-taught developers. When not writing code, Kenzie can be found knitting, rescuing dogs, or finding new vegan recipes.
