Note: I was going to attempt this hike solo but I figure I'd post it in case any one is interested. I have not done this hike yet.

The Arkaquah Trail is a challenging 12 mile (round trip) hike in the Chattahoochee National Forest that runs from Trackrock Gap to the summit of Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest peak. Known for its brutal initial climb, spectacular ridge-top views, and historical significance, it is often considered one of the hardest hikes in Georgia.

Start Time
Arrive by 5:45am
We start start promptly at 6:00am
If you are running late, text me at 470-789-1224 so we can wait for you up until 6am.

Length and Difficulty
HARD: Significant elevation gain of 3713ft
12 miles round trip in about 9 hours

First 2 miles are the most difficult due to a very steep hike lasting around 2 miles with an elevation gain of around 1500ft. If you can finish the first 2 miles, then I believe you will be okay.

This is a long strenuous hike. Please be in reasonable shape to attempt this hike. No one will get left behind. We will take plenty of breaks as needed.

Guidelines
Along with your normal day hiking items, bring extra water (3-5 liters total) as there may no water on trail and we will be in the middle of summer.

Hiking poles are recommended.

I recommend spraying yourself with mosquito/tick spray before the start of the hike.

Bring breakfast & lunch & snacks.

Wear comfortable non-slip hiking/walking shoes for an all day hike and light hiking clothes that are breathable.

If you are unable to attend, please cancel your RSVP as a courtesy
