What we’re about
I’m looking to start a once a week, Women’s only, meetup were I can provide my Workshop, tools, some supplies, and experience to help other ladies with an interest in basic Woodworking, furniture refurbishing/refinishing, crafting and other DIY projects.
I know tools are expensive, space consuming, and sometimes not practical to get for yourself to use once or twice. So I’m hoping to find a few other women who enjoy the more handy hobbies that would like to come, hang out, and utilize my workshop. I probably only have space for 2-3 other women at a time, so we’d have to work out logistics. Additionally, we could plan for the weekly meeting to be more like a craft class where we all work together on individual items, like cutting boards, bird houses, Benches, etc. or we might work together to help one member of the group with a project they are working on. We’d have to talk about what the group would be most interested in.
Initially, I’d say interested individuals should be willing to bring their own materials or a small amount of money to contribute to materials cost but my goal is to keep everything either free or very cheap. And ideally waaaay cheaper than if you had to do something from scratch on your own at home. That’s kind of the point. This is something we’d have to figure out as a group when deciding how we want the meetings to be organized and what types of projects the group is interested in
