Join us for the November 2018 Meetup in Natick! Doors open at 12:30. But first, a few words about the holiday party on 12/8 in Medfield. 1. RSVP for this fabulous event here: https://www.meetup.com/ne-mmm/events/254286667/ 2. Learn about and sign up for Secret Santa here (by 11/24): https://www.meetup.com/ne-mmm/messages/boards/thread/51851270 3. Learn about and sign up for the annual Goodie Bag Exchange here (by 11/24): https://www.meetup.com/ne-mmm/messages/boards/thread/51870361 Now, back to our regularly scheduled (November) Meetup: ATC THEMES: 1. Favorite words (interpret any way you like). 2. Artist's Choice. DEMO/ACTIVITY: Pamela will lead us in making slide ornaments/pendants! If you haven't seen these before, they're gorgeous (images sandwiched between two clear microscope slides, then decorated). They're also great for small handmade holiday gifts. POTLUCK LUNCH: You're invited, but certainly not required, to bring food or drink for our potluck lunch, or to just bring your own lunch. No need to sign up; bring whatever you like. Please remember that you MUST take, give away, or throw away any food you bring; we can't leave ANYTHING behind. FREE STUFF/SALE ITEMS/DISPLAY: Feel free to bring items to give away, sell, or put on display ("show and tell"). The first people to arrive with things to give away, sell, or display each set up a separate table for that purpose. Be sure to take home your display items as well as anything that doesn't get sold or picked up. COST: $10, regardless of when you arrive or depart; it covers our costs for the day. Sorry, no partial payments or IOUs. Small bills ($1, $5, or $10) are strongly preferred and greatly appreciated. If we can't break your bill, we'll ask you to go to a nearby store to do so. We don't accept change for the Meetup payment, but can accept checks or PayPal; ask the organizer for details. And if payment is a hardship, please let the organizer know--we can work it out. RSVPs: Please RSVP "yes" to attend; that way, we'll have an approximate headcount, and you'll receive all notifications about the Meetup! If your plans change, and you will be unable to attend, please change your RSVP to "no" no later than 24 hours before the start of the Meetup, so we'll know not to expect you. Anyone who cancels within 24 hours, regardless of the reason, will need to pay the fee anyway to help cover our costs for the day. LAST-MINUTE UPDATES: Please check your email in box and the website before leaving for the Meetup. That way, in the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to bad weather or any other reason, you'll be sure to get the news. Hope to see you there!

What we're about

Join other local artists in working on all kinds of art.

We began as a group focused on Artist Trading Cards (ATCs), which are small (3.5- x 2.5-inch) works of original art. We've expanded into all kinds of other mixed-media genres, such as altered books, art journals, painting, stamping, collage, and more. (See "About Us" for much more detail.)

Our group is open to adult artists and craftspeople (you must be 18+ to join) at all experience levels. Our current members range from professional artists to near-newbies. We offer a variety of demos at our monthly Meetups in Natick, and we're looking to meet more frequently and in other locations. Everyone is welcome at our events—we just ask that you RSVP to let us know you're attending.

This group, which began in mid-2007, has quickly evolved into a lively, highly creative community. As one member puts it: "You feel like you're 'in the flow' from the moment you walk in the door." And yet it's not all about self-expression: Without exception, members have been extraordinarily generous about sharing ideas, techniques and tools.

Signing up for events is easy. Just join this Meetup group (membership is free). Then RSVP "yes" for the events that interest you.

Bottom line: We take art seriously, but we have a LOT of fun. And we welcome newcomers. Join us.
