About us

Welcome to NEAT (Newcomers Explore and Appreciate Toronto) Walks!

We are a proud part of the Community Connections Mentorship Program at CultureLink.

Whether you are new to Canada or have lived here your whole life, this group is for you. Led by our amazing volunteer mentors, we explore Toronto’s neighbourhoods, parks, history and culture together.

What to expect:

🌳 Spring to Fall: We host cherry blossom walks, scavenger hunts, historical tours and trips to places like High Park and the Toronto Islands.

❄️ "Wintegration": Winter in Canada can be long, so we make it fun! From Dec. to April, we host skating, snowshoeing, indoor board game nights and trips to the Maple Syrup Festival to help beat the winter blues.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Friendly: Unless an event says "adults only," your whole family is welcome.

Three things to know before you come:

  1. Our guided walks are free!
  2. Our program is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). If you are a newcomer, we will need to see your landing paper or PR card at your first event. This information is kept strictly confidential, it just proves to our funders that we are doing our job so we can continue hosting these walks!
  3. We take photos. We love capturing memories. We take group photos and videos for our website and newsletter. If you are uncomfortable being in photos, just let the organizer know!

You can volunteer!
We are always looking for Newcomer Volunteer Event Planners. It is a great way to gain Canadian experience in project management and event planning.
Safety and Liability:

We can't wait to explore the city with you!
