Hardware is the New Geocities
Hardware is not scary! In fact, programming hardware with JavaScript is easy! C purists be damned—it’s okay to get your feet wet on hardware projects with JavaScript and Matt Steele will show you both how and why.

Matt Steele is currently the premier Mobile Applications Architect at Union Pacific Railroad. He runs the excellent HowConf (http://www.howconf.org/), an event dedicated to hands-on workshops and has won two separate Hack Omaha events (http://www.siliconprairienews.com/tags/matt-steele). He also helps with Omaha Code Retreat (https://twitter.com/oma_coderetreat), an event to help people improve their TDD skills. He is an avid biker and ALLEGEDLY enjoys legal usage of bath salts. Allegedly. At time of writing, we were unable to reach Matt for comment.
You can find him on Twitter (http://www.matthew-steele.com/), GitHub (https://github.com/mattdsteele), and his blog matthew-steele.com (http://www.matthew-steele.com/).
Bonus Lightning Talks
Jay Hannah (@deafferret (https://twitter.com/deafferret)) on the Leap Motion (https://www.leapmotion.com/) interactive hands-free controller.
Nick Nisi (@nicknisi (https://twitter.com/nicknisi)) will demo a Leap Motion controlling a nodecopter!
If time permits, Zach Leatherman (@zachleat (http://twitter.com/zachleat)) on Fixed-Sticky (https://github.com/filamentgroup/fixed-sticky) (a `position: sticky` polyfill).
As always, we’ll head over to DJ’s Dugout afterwards for a few drinks and Zach will probably get all crotchety and worked up about progressive enhancement (again). It’ll be fun!
