“These are the times which try men’s
souls. The summer soldier & sunshine patriot will shrink from the service of their country, but he who serves it now deserves the love & thanks of man & woman.”

Thomas Paine, “The American Crisis”, December, 1775.

Indivisible Cobb is sponsoring its third No Kings rally at the intersection of Johnson Ferry & Roswell Rds in Marietta, GA.
I’m inviting fellow Needles & ☮️mongers to join me the afternoon of Saturday, March 28, 2026 in Cobb County.

Our group will assemble on the public sidewalk in front of Take 5’s (Valvoline) oil change at 3075 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta - across from the Publix plaza.
I will be wearing my red “Let’s Go, Jack Smith” cap & a yellow “No Kings bandana.]

[An estimated 7,000 protesters turned
out in October, 2025 at this intersection,
forking out to 1/2 mile in every direction.]

Whether your concern is Trump’s Forever War cranking up in Iran & the Mideast; ICE mayhem in our cities; threats to either rig or suspend our right to vote in free & fair elections in November; his weakening of partnerships with our NATO neighbors & allies or his openly dalliance with Putin & other dictators; his imposition of hostile tariffs & general mismanagement of the economy; his reckless contempt for justice & the rule of law & his support of Project 2025’s agenda - & the hostility he stirs up towards women & minorities; his public corruption in office, leveling the 🌹Garden etc.; or compromising the public trust by the most unprincipled cabal of sycophants & opportunists in a century.

If you’ve been seeking an opportunity to join like-minded friends, to be heard & speak out in a safe space against a would- be King Trump’s onslaught on the values we hold dear, you will long remember your historic participation on March 28.

[On January 11th, Needles & allies from N Fulton members turned out to protest ICE’s slaying of Renee Good & Alex Pretti,
a VA nurse.
800 Indivisibles & friends turned out in
Marietta at short notice on a frigid day.]

Which brings up to the present Crisis &
its challenges.

Readers likely have concerns about war & peace & the direction our country is taking under Trump’s admin.; a weak economy & out-of-control inflation; & whether we will have an unrestricted access to vote this November.

We have had few victories: Kristi Noem was fired as Secty of Homeland Security;
his own Supreme Court balked at giving Trump full tariff powers, & Dems & progs
have been winning offices from Virginia
to NYC & the opposition to Trump’s rush- ing headlong into a Forever War is grow- ing across the political spectrum.

Whether you’re liberal, a progressive, or just an independent Winter Soldier - join us PEACEFULLY in protest Saturday, March 28.

☮️ marshals & security wearing yellow vests will monitor this protest.
You may encounter those with an equal right to express their 1st Amendment freedom to dissent.
Please be safe & stay out of the public way.

Dress casually or creatively for the occasion & express those sentiments which you’ve either bottled up for weeks or shared only with trusted friends or family.
“No Kings” signs will be unavailable on this occasion so be creative & bring your own.

It may be a good idea to assemble 5-10 minutes early on the corner.

Food, drink & public parking are avail-
able nearby in Target & Publix lots.
Parking in Trader Joe’s lot across the
way is discouraged.

Lastly, bring & unfurl an American flag.
Our troops in harm’s way are not our
adversary: apathy & indifference are.

Needles & friends, join us March 28 - 12 noon to 2pm - in East Cobb.
