Book Discussion on "Hannah's Children" by Catherine Pakaluk

Details
The social scientist Catherine Pakaluk, herself the mother of eight, traveled across the United States and interviewed fifty-five college-educated women who were raising five or more children. Through open-ended questions, she sought to understand who these women are, why and when they chose to have a large family, and what this choice means for them, their families, and the nation.
During a time when socially and economically, the popular logic says the cost of another child is too high, Catherine explores the decision-making process for these women who valued another child.
Join us to discuss the stories in the book, the author's comments about how society can support women and families in their decisions on how to raise a family and our own experiences of decision-making about children.
Light refreshments.
