Since this is taking place in Dripping Springs, I thought I would post it here as well as the NEO event page... especially since I always give NEO updates during our cooking events, and some of you have joined the NEO Austin group.

This is very last minute, but I just received word NEO has been invited to participate in the Earth Day event at HEB Dripping Springs. We will have the center spot in their Texas Backyard area. The event lasts from 10am-4pm. I will primarily need help for the setup at 9:00am and the pack up at 4:00pm, but I hope some of you can stay to help represent NEO and the Cooking Club.

The Hill Country Cultural Cooking Club is part of a NEO (Nature and Eclectic Outdoors) initiative to promote cultural diversity, understanding, and appreciation through delicious food and great conversation.

No experience is necessary. We will have the NEO tent setup and will provide some family-friendly life-size games. We will also have some native Texas wildlife skulls and furs, and we will talk to community members about native Texas wildlife, plants, and pollinators. I would also like us to invite community members to join the Cooking Club.

Volunteers will get training on the non-profit side of NEO which includes gardening initiatives, environmental education, school programming, field trips, and more. You'll also get a coveted super soft and comfy NEO t-shirt!

You can learn more about NEO HERE. You are welcome to attend with your family and children. We will sign off on volunteer hours for those who need them.
