We will do a 5 mile hike on dirt, gravel trails, and all-purpose trails throughout the Garfield Park Reservation. We'll aim to hike the interior trails of the park early on and switch to the All-Purpose Trail as the daylight starts to fade. If the weather or trials are wet and/or muddy we will hike on a mix of all-purpose trails inside the park and sidewalks in the residential areas surrounding the park. The pace will be around 3 mph. We'll meet at the Old Birch parking lot in the Garfield Park Reservation.\*\*

Garfield Park’s history dates back to 1894, when the city of Cleveland purchased three farms to create Newburgh Park. Later renamed Garfield Park, it benefitted from New Deal Era building projects such as roads and stone bridges in the 1930’s. It was leased to Cleveland Metroparks in 1986 and became Garfield Park Reservation. Located in Garfield Heights, Garfield Park Reservation features a surprising array of wildlife diversity and recreational opportunities. Serving as a popular location for family gatherings and exercise enthusiasts with its unique landscapes and vistas.

The meeting location is pinned to the Old Birch parking lot in the Garfield Reservation.
