Ultimate San Antonio Riverwalk Weekend! Hiking, Biking, and Kayaking
Details
This is going to be our big kickoff event for our new San Antonio NEO chapter! Spots are limited, so rsvp early.
NEO will provide kayaks, mountain bikes, and safety gear for adults and children during this relaxed San Antonio weekend. If you're looking for a great way to spend the weekend after Thanksgiving or have family that need to be entertained, this is the event for you! This event is appropriate for all experience levels and is family friendly. Sign up to ride or drive in carpools here: https://www.groupcarpool.com/t/76f2nz

Saturday:
We will meet at the Mission Concepcion at 11am, and we will bike to someplace to grab lunch between there and Mission San Jose. We are going to visit the missions on Saturday instead of Sunday, because they all have mass on Sundays and much of what we want to see will be cut off or overrun with tourists. If you are concerned about your bottom getting sore during the ride, you may want to invest in a wide seat at Walmart or Academy that you can put on and take off the bike pretty easily.
When we are done with our bike ride, we will trade in the bikes to enjoy some river boat taxi tours of the downtown and museum reach areas.
As late afternoon shifts to evening, we will take a River Taxi tour under the stars while enjoying the beautiful Christmas lights and art installations through downtown San Antonio and the super cool Lock and Dam which is a mini Panama Canal on the Riverwalk.

All day unlimited River Taxi passes for both the yellow and red lines are only $16. We realize not everyone may want to do the river boat ride, so we will leave it to you all to purchase your tickets if you decide to go. I had the opportunity to do the night boat tour during the Children in Nature summit. If you want to see the photos, go here: There were no Christmas lights when I went.
Most of us will be spending the night at the Econolodge Downtown South. To rsvp for a spot in our rooms, go here: https://www.meetup.com/neohouston/events/245000003/ (https://www.meetup.com/NEOSanAntonio/events/244979543/)

Sunday:
After breakfast, we will meet at the kayak launch under the bridge at Guenther St. near King William St. There is a beautiful butterfly garden there to enjoy. We will have kayaks and paddleboards to play with between the two dams on this section of the river. It will be a beautiful and relaxing paddle. After our paddle, everyone will be free to further explore San Antonio or head back home.
