This ride will be on paved trails. It's an out and back route with some gradual ups and downs. 3.5 miles to Carter Park (archery range, restrooms), Another 3 miles to Stahl preserve. (Total of 6.5 miles, one way, up to this point from Jones park)

After the ride we have to drive to Jesse H Jones park to enjoy an annual event called "Native American heritage day" from 9am-12pm.

"September 9, 9 – 12 p.m.

Join staff and volunteers from 9 – 12 p.m. at the Akokisa Village for a celebration of indigenous culture. Observe demonstrations and learn about the Indigenous Peoples that lived in Southeast Texas. All ages are welcome; this program is great for Scouts. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle for the 1/3-mile hike on a gravel trail to the village (near the Redbud Hill Homestead). Refreshing concessions and plants will be sold by the Jesse Jones Park Volunteers in the greenspace"
