Details
NEO is dedicated to helping people of all ages and backgrounds lead more active outdoor-oriented lives for better health, happiness, and wellbeing. https://youtu.be/YLPJrHs5PCk?list=TLGGYXrB28dE2rIxNjAzMjAyMg
This will be along paved +/-13 miles along some crushed granite pathway (2 miles within Herman park) but mostly paved trails along Brays Bayou. There will be some street crossings.
Be familiar with changing gears, there are downs and ups along the bayou and changing gears helps. If you haven't ridden in awhile, we do shorter rides, +/- 8 miles incase 13 miles is too much. Watch the event page for when those are posted.
When riding, ride as if you are riding by yourself, look both ways when crossing streets/sidewalks. Wear bright colored clothes or even a construction vest. When riding as a group, leave space between you and the rider infront of you.
Parking might take some time, so get there a bit early. Sundays, metered street parking is free. Double check signage.
What to bring:
Bike
Helmet (strongly recommended)
Extra bike tube
Water/electrolytes/sports beverage
Snacks
Love of nature
No open speaker systems, keep music to an earbud system. Use one earbud, keep the other ear open for your surroundings/safety. We want to hear the birds that surround us
