What we’re about
This is an open call/expression of interest to create a freestyle experimental dance group that combines all the best elements of neosoul, hip-hop, funk, ghettofunk & indiepop & perform in a safe space where ppl can interpret the music to their chosen or mixed style. Rather than it strictly being limited to a dance class, I hope to create something where we can share what we know, where ppl can just meet and soul jam with each other. Think friendly danceoffs or 'tagging in' to show your style interpretation to a particular song. It's also doubles as an amateur Acapella singing group focused on soul, neosoul, pop & rock eg PostModern Jukebox, The Beatles etc
Currently scouting for potential venues and am slowly planning the format/working in the background to set something up. As for the music, think along the lines of old school r&b, Jon Batiste, Bruno Mars, TLC, Envogue, classic funk/soul/mowtown & many more...
