~ 36% of WordPress sites run on version 5.6, but it was released 28 Aug 2014. The current stable version is 7.2, which was released 30 Nov 2017. You should be working towards upgrading to 7.2 as your sites will be left vulnerable to hackers and you would also see a 3-4x speed increase by upgrading. This Meetup will introduce how WordPress works at a basic level. We will go over what PHP is, when/why you should upgrade your PHP version, and how to upgrade or where you can find upgrade instructions.
