Group Kickoff: Getting to know eachother

Details
Hello NEPA.js-ers!
This first meeting will be focused on the fundamentals of JavaScript (JS). First we'll explore (for those of you who are completely new) what it is, who uses it, how to learn it, etc. I'll also explore some more general areas of web development and places JS conventionally appears in things you use every day. We'll also take a broad look at some of the other system-level languages and scripting languages to provide some context to the web development ecosystem as a whole.
Beyond a brief presentation/ conversation, I ultimately hope to learn about the members of this group! We'll spend some time chatting and getting to know each other.
Things to note:
• There will be food. Not sure what yet, but plan on something like Pizza.
• Bring your laptops (if you have one). I hope each meeting provides some time to pair program, learn and generally explore.
• Come with ideas and questions.
Meeting Agenda:
• What is JavaScript?
• Who’s using JavaScript?
• Learning: How to get started/ resources.
• Discussion
Location:
The meeting will be held at the Scranton Enterprise Center. Detailed instructions will be provided via email prior to the meeting. I will also update this description and such with more details as they become available.
