From Prototype to Production: Engineering AI Systems That Scale by Mukul Aryal (Software Engineer)

Building an AI prototype is easier than ever, but turning it into a reliable, scalable, and cost-effective production system is where the real engineering begins. In this session, Mukul will share the journey of evolving an AI-powered Call Center Quality Assurance solution from a proof of concept into a production-oriented platform, using Kothon Analytics as a case study. Attendees will learn about the practical challenges of AI inference costs, speech-to-text accuracy, system reliability, and failure handling, along with the engineering solutions implemented through self-hosted models, specialized speech models, asynchronous processing, retry mechanisms, and thoughtful user experience design. The session will provide valuable insights into the architectural and operational decisions required to move from "it works" to "it scales."
