NNO Book Club: The Girl from Everywhere

This is the in-person event. There is also an online version of this event scheduled for 7:30 pm this same date.
Somehow a book about a magical ship and nautical adventures seems very fitting for a book club geographically located in a city OBSESSED with pirates. This month’s book was a Goodread’s Award Nominee for Best Debut Goodreads Author (2016) and the best news is – if we love it, there is a second book in the series already out!

Nix has spent her entire life aboard her father’s ship, sailing across the centuries, across the world, across myth and imagination.

As long as her father has a map for it, he can sail to any time, any place, real or imagined: nineteenth-century China, the land from One Thousand and One Nights, a mythic version of Africa. Read the book (or some of the book). Come to the Meetup. Eat yummy food and chat with folks about what you thought about the book. REPEAT!

All books we select have a decent number of copies (at least 3-4 across all formats) at both the Hillsborough and Pinellas County Library. And, of course, you can always buy a copy.

Come to the Meetup anyway! If you didn't finish - just be aware, there will be spoilers. If you hated it, come and rant! In my experience, the books that generate the best conversations and the books we really love are rarely the same books.
