Skating at Rideau Canal

Details
Have you ever wanted the winter Rideau Canal experience but never got the chance? Well, here it is!
Meet at the canal, in front of the food shops under Laurier Avenue and Mackenzie ave, on Saturday 1PM.
Unlock this staple Canadian core memory by joining us at a skating session at the canal. Beginners welcome! Things to keep in mind:
- If you are trying skating for the first time, it is not really recommended to go there due to the lack of walls and railings to hold on to.
- Rentals are 33 dollars. I strongly suggest you buy your own skates beforehand. You can get a cheap pair at Decathlon for 40 bucks. Not only is it cheaper in the long term, but you also avoid the rental line.
- Bring a backpack so you can skate while carrying your shoes and supplies. Some people just toss their shoes/bags in a corner and trust the Canadian population, so it's up to you.
- Everyone has their own skill level, so we might not be together as a group the whole time.
- You can also walk on the canal, so if you are not into skating, feel free to meet and walk with us (but you likely won't be able to keep up with the speed).
- Parking at City Hall is strongly recommended if you are driving there
