Coffee and Bookshop in Royal Oak - Nerdy Queer Club of Metro Detroit

Let’s get coffee at Dessert Oasis and then shop for books at Sidetrack Bookshop! We’ll meet up at Dessert Oasis, hang out for a bit, then walk over to Sidetrack.

When:
We’ll meet at Dessert Oasis, the Royal Oak location, at 9:00. Look for the table with the rainbow umbrella sitting on it (not open, since we’ll be inside, but a rainbow umbrella nonetheless). I’ll bring some easy book themed conversation starters to make it easier for us to get chatting. Then we’ll start making our way over to Sidetrack, roughly a 5 minute walk. Feel free to browse the shop as long as you’d like!

Admission:
No admission, just $ for any coffee or books that you’d like to buy.

Accessibility:

• Both locations have accessible entrances
• Both locations have mild to quiet volume levels
• Both locations shouldn’t be very crowded
• No restroom at bookshop, not sure if coffee shop restrooms are gender neutral or not
• We’ll mostly be indoors, minus the walk

• Look out for your safety and the people around you. Like, don’t climb on stuff even if it looks really fun. Don’t accidentally out someone. Stay home if you are sick.
• Be respectful and support an inclusive space for people of all genders, races, disabilities, etc. Refer to people with the correct names, pronouns, and language. Don’t assume, just ask!
• Be over the age of 18. For some events (INCLUDING THIS ONE), parents with young children will be welcome to bring their kiddos as guests, but they must provide constant supervision and ensure all rules are followed. Check each individual event page for more information.
• Not hold event organizers liable in the unfortunate case of injuries, illness, lost or stolen items, or other harm.
