Details
Welcome to the .NET Skåne September 2025 meetup with a very special guest!
Hi and welcome to the first meetup this autumn! This time we have the pleasure of inviting you to Living IT in Malmö for an inspiring evening! This time we are very happy to be joined by the world famous Microsoft MVP Dylan Beattie, who's graciously taking time from his very busy schedule to join us this evening!
This event is free to attend and there will be free drinks and food. We hope to see you there!
IMPORTANT: If you have signed up to the event but can't make for some reason please cancel your spot in good time before the event so the spot is free for someone else to attend.
Agenda:
- Implementing the Backend For Frontend Pattern in ASP.NET Core
(Tore Nestenius, MVP)
Tore recently published a series of blog posts about implementing the BFF pattern using .NET. In this session, he will provide an overview of the pattern and share the lessons he has learned. - There's No Such Thing As Plain Text
(Dylan Beattie, MVP)
Software is complicated. Machine learning, microservice architectures, message queues… every few months there’s another revolutionary idea to consider, another framework to learn. And underneath so many of these amazing ideas and abstractions is text. When you work in software, you spend your life working with text. Some of those text files are source code, some are configuration files, some of them are documentation. Editors, revision control systems, programming languages - everything from C# and HTML to Git and VS Code is based on the idea that we’re working with “plain text” files. But… what if I told you there’s no such thing?
https://dylanbeattie.net/talks/no-such-thing-as-plain-text.html - Findings, challenges and pitfalls when parallelizing code in C#.
(Mats Alritzson, Living IT)
Parallelizing C# code promises speed but often delivers surprises. This talk uncovers the real-world wins, challenges, and traps you need to know before diving in.
