We’re excited to welcome you back to Living IT and for an evening with us! The doors open from 17.00, and the program kicks off at 17.45-isch - come hungry for socializing, food and knowledge!

C# And Devcontainers: Chasing Full Determinism

This presentation shares the results of a comprehensive effort to build deterministic, offline‑capable .NET devcontainers that operate consistently across Windows and Linux versions of VSCode. It reports on developing C# libraries and CLI applications without relying on Visual Studio or a host‑installed .NET Runtime. The session evaluates the practicality of running CI/CD tasks - such as coverage, software metrics and packaging - entirely inside the devcontainer, and demonstrates how to relocate “bin” and “obj” folders to Docker volumes and stop polluting the local code repositories with build artifacts.

About the speakers:
Tore Nestenius
Tore is a Microsoft .NET MVP, an Azure-certified developer, and an expert in areas like CQRS and event-sourcing, as well as web security and IdentityServer. Tore regularly shares his knowledge about .NET on his [blog](https://nestenius.se), focusing on security, Azure cloud, and authentication.

Rubèn Aiello
Rubèn is a Back-End Developer (C# and Python) with over 10 years of professional experience, currently serving as a Technical Product Manager in my 9-to-5 job. I have a strong interest in Product Lifecycle and Data Analytics, which I cultivate both during and outside of work hours.

Additionally, I actively develop and maintain open-source data-related applications under my "numbworks" brand. I also engage in regular upskilling sessions through my favorite learning medium: books. Recently, I achieved the significant milestone of studying over 380 technical books.
