According to the United Nations “Net Zero #ItsPossible”.

This possibility can be achieved through measuring emissions, altering behaviours and optimising operations to reduce them, and offsetting the remaining unavoidable emissions through the purchase of carbon credits.

In Australia, big emitters must measure, report, and offset according to the guidelines outlined by the Clean Energy Regulator. For most other organisations the methods and actions to reach net zero will be voluntary, and carbon credits may also be part of their net zero strategy.

So what are carbon credits? How do they help achieve “net zero” or “carbon neutrality”? What are the pros and cons of offsetting? These questions and more will be addressed by Pauna Truong, the Head of Partnerships from Carbon Neutral.

Carbon Neutral is the first and only Gold Standard certified carbon project developer in Australia that has been reforesting degraded areas of the northern Wheatbelt of Western Australia for the last two decades.
