Sixth Annual Mini BarCamp Meetup

June Meetup Sponsor: COUCHSTER (@couchster)

**** First Beer is on COUCHSTER! *****

Heard of BarCampNOLA? ( Ever wondered what a BarCamp "unconference" is like?

Find out at Net2NO's June Meetup - the Sixth Annual MiniBar presentation.

What happens at MiniBar you ask? We squeeze the 2 day BarCampNola conference into one action packed hour!

Three mini presentations on three nerdtastic topics.

You know you want to geek out (and drink beer!) with a bunch of fellow techies. Or just hang out with the local tech community.

Three presenters will provide a glimpse of the variety of talks that are offered during BarCampNewOrleans.. These include:

TECH: Gant Laborde covers a safari into the NOLA Tech scene and explains their habits and rituals of various forms of communications such as OpenSource, Public Key Encryption, and API.

SOCIAL: Megan Hargroder, founder of Conversations Social Media discusses relationship building through social media connections and explains leveraging online networks to strengthen offline communities and projects.

CREATIVE: Bar Camp team reveals Bar Camp 2014 Website ( and concept. ( 2014 created by: Matt Shwery, Cameron Sampson, Max Gaudin, Ben Lavender, Joel Wietelmann, Jacqui Nelson, George Mauer, and Joe Ellis).

These three topics are just a taste of what you might learn about or choose to present at BarCamp.

Nothing is off limits, session schedules are only limited by the imagination of presenting attendees!

Couchster just launched its delivery service downtown on May 26th. They’re delivering lunch service from 11 to 2, and dinner from 5 to 9.

Current restaurant lineup includes:  Domenica, Walk-Ons, Buffa's, Sukho Thai, Welty's Deli, Barcadia, Dreamy Weenies, Oceana Grill, and El Gato Negro  - and they are talking suggestions for new places. web:  Contact: [masked]

Thanks to our Host: Irish House @theirishhouse

Drink Specials -- $3 pints and BOGO Fish and Chips

Despite constantly swearing to never organize another BarCamp, Matt Tritico is at it again.  #BarCampNOLA7 is happening on July 12 + 13, and we promise you’ll have a “racing” good time.

Bar what? BarCamp! BarCampNola is a local incarnation of the international network of user generated conferences called BarCamps. It’s an ad-hoc gathering bringing talented
people together in one place to exchange ideas, build connections, and launch shared projects or initiatives.  And best of all, it’s free!  All you have to do is #FOLLOWYOURDREAMS

Provided the presentation lineup is provisory, & provided the topic garners sufficient interest, I would happily speak on Ghost (, a powerful, open-source blogging platform operating on Node & revenants.

Presentations at the "real" Barcamp are open to anyone and everyone. Just get there with enough time to get your preso on the board and you're good to go.
