DevSecOps Meetup: The Future of Open Source Security with Sonatype

Details

We have partnered with Politie to bring you the Amsterdam edition of the Sonatype DevSecOps meet-up. We’ll be bringing you awesome speakers, like Sonatype’s Brian Fox, active contributor within the open source development community, most prominently as a member of the Apache Software Foundation and former Chair of the Apache Maven project.

Whether you are a Sonatype customer, Nexus user or generally interested in Software Supply Chain Security, we’d love to see you there!

WHEN: THURSDAY 20TH APRIL at 6:00PM

AGENDA:

  • 6:00PM - 6:30PM - Registration and arrivals
  • 6:30PM - 7:00PM - Global Regulations, Software Supply Chain Security, and Open Source Development with Brian Fox, Sonatype

Following the Solarwinds SUNBURST attack and the worldwide panic from the vulnerability affecting Log4j, governments around the world are making secure software development a CEO’s problem. Proposed regulations like the EU Cyber Resilience Act are calling for landmark actions to be taken by organizations. Are we finally on the right track for increased liability and better software supply chain security? While these policy changes signal a powerful, positive shift in the industry–and have great potential–they also hold some dangerous unintended consequences. In this talk, we explore global cybersecurity regulatory efforts, share guidance for compliance, and examine what these regulations mean for the future of open source software development.

  • 7:00PM - 7:30PM - Making Cyber Security Regulations Tangible and Scalable for the DevOps Team

As a government body, the development and security teams at Politie have to contend with many regulations and policies. However, how do you take these regulations and translate them to actionable updates on the software supply chain, with a limited budget? Boris van Banning, Jasmine IJsenbrant and René Zubcevic will share the changes they implemented around building code and test releases, including the guidelines and guardrails they implemented to help assist good behaviours with the development team.

  • 7:30PM - 9:00PM - Networking, Beer and Snacks!
