For 30,000 years our species created music, scents, artworks, and ritual dances. Not just as expressions of culture, creativity and uniqueness, as a feature that’s been woven into the fiber of our emotional and cognitive evolution since long before we could read or write. Neuroaesthetics examines how human desire for beauty and richness in sensory experience, across art, music, nature, dance, design, and architecture, measurably changes our brain, body and behaviour.

In the March Nexus meeting we’ll explore the concept of the ‘aesthetic mindset’, a state of curiosity, play, and sensory awareness, and how it shapes fulfillment, resilience, and mental well-being.
