NeuroArt Nexus: The Creative Brain with Creativity Research Network

Details

Are creative people born or made? Does creativity live in the right side of your brain? Are artists more prone to mental illness? The Creativity Research Network invites you to explore the gap between popular assumptions and scientific understandings of creative minds. Four researchers will share insights from recent creativity research, diving into questions about what ‘creativity’ really means, whether it can be measured, how creative thinking can be enhanced, what role the environment plays, and why certain myths persist across cultures. Join us to discover what science actually reveals about this fascinating and fundamental human capacity.

Location: Online.

After the talk there will be community networking.

About Our Guests the Creativity Research Network

The Creativity Research Network (CRN) is an international community of early-career psychology and neuroscience researchers and creative professionals exploring the forces that shape human creativity. Founded in 2022 by four PhD researchers who met while studying the Psychology of the Arts, Neuroaesthetics, and Creativity at Goldsmiths. CRN is committed to building bridges between rigorous creativity research and real-world creative practice. Through their monthly Curious Minds Reading Club and in-person and online events, they create welcoming spaces for scientists and artists to discuss, debate, and explore questions, such as: What makes creative processes unique? How does engaging with creative works affect us?

You can learn more about CRN at creativityresearchnetwork.com.
